THE LOWDOWN ON AAC+

EdgeRadio encodes its audio stream in the AAC+ format.

Encoding in AAC+ allows us to stream in Stereo at the low bit rate of 32kbps while maintaining a sound quality on par with a Stereo stream encoded at 128kbps.

The 32k bit-rate uses a lot less bandwidth...yours, and ours. That means the stream will be much more stable and less susceptible to 'network instability.' Also, the lower bit rate stream is much more viable for dial-up connections and should function well over most wireless networks.

AAC+ IS COMPATIBLE WITH MOST ALL MAJOR MEDIA PLAYERS

i-TUNES?  Yes! iTunes is now fully compatible with AAC+.

WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER?  Yes, but you must download a free plug-in from ORBAN and use a specific format when accessing AAC+ streams.

REAL PLAYER?  Yes, as long as you have RealOne version 10 or above.

WINAMP?  Yes. This is the best, most versatile media player for WINDOWS based systems, and it's FREE.
