Okay. Cool. <br> <br> So what exactly does that mean? Simply put, the AAC+ encoding allows us to stream in Stereo at the low bit rate of 32kbps while maintaining a sound quality on par with a Stereo stream encoded at 128kbps. <br> <br> The 32k bit-rate uses a lot less bandwidth...yours, and ours. That means the stream will be much more stable and less susceptible to our mutual enemy, the dreaded scourge that is 'network instability.' Also, the stream is much more viable for slower and dial-up connections, and should function well over most wireless networks. <br> <br> And the icing on the cake: streaming at 32k is much more cost effective than streaming at 96k. So much so that we are even experimenting with a <i>second</i>, music-only stream. With AAC+ we can now have <i>two</i> streams, with the potential for <i>THREE</i> times as many listeners. And spend less money per month than on the single MP3 96k stream... <br> <br> It's all good, right? Well, like most things, there's a downside to streaming in AAC+: the encoding isn't compatible with all media players.</font> <br> <br> <div class="hr-yellow"> </div> <h2><center><big>THE DOWNSIDE: WHICH PLAYER WORKS WITH AAC+</big></center><h2> <div class="hr-yellow"> </div> <p align="center"><font face="tempus sans itc" size="2"color="#dcdcdc"> <b>i-TUNES?</b> Nope. No codec or plug-in available at the moment. Mac users must download the free VLC Player. <br> <br> <b>WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER?</b> Yes, but you must download a free plug-in from ORBAN and use a specific format when accessing AAC+ streams. <br> <br> <b>REAL PLAYER?</b> Yes, as long as you have RealOne version 10 or above. <br> <br> <b>WINAMP?</b> Yes.
